1. What is a reflective learning template?
Reflection should occur as soon as possible after watching a lecture video, to be contemporaneous and meaningful, even though the impact may occur a significant time after undertaking CPD.
Once you have viewed a lecture, you will be able to complete a learning form for which you can claim 1 CPD credit. You will be able to download a record of this activity.
You will also be given the opportunity to complete a template for evaluating the impact of your CPD on patient care, for which you can gain an additional CPD credit.
Please refer to the RCR's CPD Scheme for guidance on the number of CPD points that can be claimed in respect of reflective learning.
2. How do I access the learning template?
Once you have chosen a video to watch via the video library, you must watch the entire video (normally around 20 minutes long).
When you have completed watching the video, the reflective learning template will be accessible either from the video page (under CPD Status on the bottom right of the page) or in your My CPD area.
You can then fill in the form, save it as a draft to work on later, or save it as a completed.
Once it is a saved as a complete document, you will have access to your CPD certificate, which is worth 1 CPD credit.
3. How do I access the CPD impact evaluation?
Once you have finished the reflective learning template, you will have access to the CPD impact evaluation template. This document is for you to evaluate the impact of your CPD activity, and how it will help your practice.
You will gain one CPD credit for completing this form.
4. What is the My CPD area?
The My CPD stores all your CPD activity, so you can return to reflective learning forms or save, download and print certificates.
There is a guide to explain what the different icons mean, and your CPD drafts are saved above the complete CPD records.
To view previous CPD records, ensure to select the date range correctly, and then click "show content".
You can access the My CPD area by clicking on the My CPD button on the header of any page in the RCR Video Library.
